MEPCO Wins ‘Great Place to Work 2017' Accolade in KSA
  • MEPCO is recognized for its employment environment in the manufacturing sector
  • Industry-leading Saudization with KSA nationals comprising almost half of MEPCO’s employees
Jeddah, Saudi Arabia; 14 March 2018:  The leading regional vertically integrated paper manufacturer, the Middle East Paper Co. (‘MEPCO’), has been recognised by Great Place to Work in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The organisation’s research and management consulting firm assess award applicants from over 100 companies on a variety of parameters before choosing the company most deserving of the title in each market. The award scores are determined through an employee survey that measures company performance across key indicators including: credibility of management, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie.

MEPCO was shortlisted among the top 20 companies across all sectors, including SMEs and large corporates in the private sector, as well as public sector and non-profit companies. According to the annual benchmarking study released by the global research firm, MEPCO won best ‘Great Place to Work’ in the manufacturing sector.

Eng. Sami Al Safran, CEO of MEPCO, commented: ‘’Winning this prestigious award is purely a result of our belief in the importance of human capital, and creating opportunities for our staff to develop and grow in their careers. We are fortunate to have MEPCO staff members for many decades, most of them are part of the senior management team. Another great attribute of the MEPCO team is the diversity among nationalities. This diversity improves our collaborative efforts with people of different backgrounds contributing to strategic discussions and sharing expertise.”

Eng. Al Safran added: “One of the most fundamental ways that we can preserve excellence in each layer of the company is by ensuring that our human capital is encouraged and rewarded and that our work environment is well maintained. I am very pleased with our high rate of Saudization with KSA Nationals making up nearly half of our human capital. MEPCO will continue to enhance its workplace further by conducting more training programs, career development, and establishing human resources policies. These elements play a significant role in incentivising our employees to do their best and go the extra mile.’’

MEPCO has recently been awarded the King Khaled Award for ‘’Responsible Competitiveness 2017,” which is one of many accolades it has received from the KSA Leadership. The award is considered the best-in-class for CSR and sets a benchmark of competitiveness through the merit of committing to sustainability and CSR.

In addition, MEPCO has received the CFI Award for Corporate Governance earlier this year.
