Riyadh, October 7, 2026, SPA -- Minister of Health Fahad AlJalajel participated in the annual national blood donation campaign for the year 2026 yesterday by donating blood. It was launched by His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

He explained that the initiative has made blood donation a community culture that grows through participation and is renewed through giving. This has been reflected in donation rates, building on the broad health and social impact of last year's national blood donation campaign, which contributed to quadrupling the number of donors. Voluntary donations accounted for 100% of all donations, while new donors represented more than 85% of participants, reflecting the expanding donor base and strengthening the culture of voluntary donation in society.

AlJalajel noted that the campaign's impact also extended to supporting the needs of patients and beneficiaries requiring blood and its components. He affirmed that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is promoting and strengthening the culture of voluntary donation as a sustainable community practice that contributes to enhancing people's health.

He stressed that blood donation centers across Saudi Arabia continue to receive donors as part of the Ministry of Health's efforts to facilitate access to donation services, enhance their efficiency and quality, and continue implementing the world's best practices to ensure sustainable blood supplies and strengthen national initiatives supporting blood donation, thereby building a healthier, more aware, and giving society.
