Riyadh, August 19, 2026, SPA -- Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah received in Riyadh today Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries, areas of cooperation, and ways to enhance and develop them in a manner that fulfills the aspirations of the leaderships and peoples of both countries.
The two ministers discussed the latest developments in the region, as well as diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions, contain them, and maintain regional security and stability. They emphasized the importance of continued coordination and consultation, and of unifying positions on current developments, to strengthen efforts to consolidate security and stability in the region.
They affirmed their support for Qatari and Pakistani mediation efforts and the role they play in advancing dispute settlement through diplomatic means. They also stressed the need to continue joint efforts to ensure security, safety, and freedom of navigation in the region's vital maritime corridors.
