Riyadh, September 2, 2026, SPA -- The National Center for Non-Profit Sector (NCNP) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the United Nations Volunteers (UNV) during a visit by an NCNP delegation to UNV headquarters in Bonn, Federal Republic of Germany. The MoU aims to strengthen cooperation in volunteerism, capacity building, and sustainable development.

The MoU establishes a framework for cooperation in several areas, including opportunities for Saudi volunteers to gain experience with the United Nations, in coordination with NCNP, and the strengthening of the regional and international presence of licensed volunteer organizations in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It also covers capacity building, joint research and studies, and knowledge exchange in governance and community development.

The signing of the MoU reflects the progress of volunteerism in the Kingdom in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. By the end of 2025, the number of volunteers had reached approximately 1.7 million, exceeding the vision’s original target of one million volunteers before 2030. The Kingdom has also continued to develop the regulatory framework for volunteer work.
