Jeddah, October 23, 2026, SPA -- The “Red Wind, Sonic Residues” symposium kicked off Thursday evening at Hayy Jameel in Jeddah, organized by Art Jameel over three days to explore musical traditions and practices across the Red Sea, with a focus on the Horn of Africa.
The symposium highlights sonic heritage as part of intangible cultural heritage and a testament to the historical and cultural ties among communities along the Red Sea coast.
The symposium is part of the closing program of the “Red Wind, Coral Worlds” exhibition, with events continuing through Saturday.
