Riyadh, November 3, 2026, SPA -- The Roads General Authority (RGA) said road surface improvement technology is an advanced preventive maintenance method designed to address surface cracks and improve the condition of existing pavement. The technique extends road service life and enhances maintenance efficiency without requiring complete repaving.

RGA said the technology improves road conditions by sealing surface cracks, enhancing skid resistance, preserving pavement layers, and preventing further surface deterioration. It also improves surface uniformity and the road’s overall appearance, while enhancing safety for all road users.

The rapid application of the technology minimizes the impact of maintenance work on traffic flow. RGA added that the cold-applied process is environmentally friendly because it requires no heating, reducing material and energy consumption, carbon emissions, and future maintenance costs while improving economic efficiency.
