Jeddah Islamic Port Introduces 60-Day Logistics Incentive Package to Enhance Supply Chain Competitiveness

Jeddah, July 20, 2026, SPA -- Jeddah Islamic Port has announced extended storage fee exemption periods for transit cargo for 60 days, effective July 19, 2026, as part of a package of incentives aimed at improving supply chain efficiency and strengthening the competitiveness of Saudi ports on the global trade map. The move reflects the Kingdom’s accelerating logistics transformation

The initiative includes three key operational measures: extending the storage fee exemption for transit containers to 15 days, granting a five-day exemption for general transit cargo, and providing a five-day exemption for roll-on/roll-off (Ro-Ro) cargo and vehicles. These measures offer customers greater flexibility in managing shipping, storage, and re-export operations.

The incentives reflect a strategic approach to enhancing the competitiveness of Jeddah Islamic Port, the Kingdom’s largest Red Sea port and one of the region’s leading trade hubs connecting East and West. The port handles millions of tons of cargo and containers annually, serving as a key pillar of regional and international supply chains.

Logistics sector specialists believe the extended exemption periods will reduce operating costs for investors and shipping companies while offering additional advantages for maritime carriers to select Jeddah Islamic Port as a major transit hub. This is expected to increase cargo handling volumes and improve overall service efficiency.
