Riyadh, March 03, 2026, SPA -- The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has launched the Saudi strawberry season in local markets, partnering with major retailers to showcase domestic produce through innovative packaging and display, aiming to bolster the quality and reliability of national crops while meeting increasing consumer demand. Recognized as a promising sector, strawberry cultivation has expanded significantly under ministry initiatives focused on agricultural sustainability and the diversification of local production sources. To reduce reliance on imports, the ministry provides high-quality tissue culture seedlings, and cultivation is currently widespread across Qassim, Taif, Al-Jouf, Hail, Riyadh, Al-Baha, Aseer, and Tabuk regions. By leveraging the unique natural resources of these areas, the ministry is developing a robust production and processing ecosystem. This supports various industries, including frozen fruit, jams, juices, and confectionery, creating new economic prospects and enhancing the overall value of the Kingdom's agricultural sector.
