Riyadh –
The Saudi Film Commission has announced the launch of 'Saudi Film Nights', which will take place in China, following the success of two previous tours in Morocco and Australia.
The event will occur from October 21 to 26, 2024 in the largest film market in the world in the cities of Beijing, Shanghai, and Suzhou, respectively, where a selection of feature and short Saudi films will be screened, in the presence of Saudi talents.
The screenings will be followed by panel discussions with the filmmakers.
The event in China will highlight a variety of Saudi feature films, including VALLEY ROAD by Khalid Fahad, STAR CHASER by Ayman Jamal, IL SIGNORE by Aymen Khoja, and the short film SALEEG by Afnan Bawyan. 'Saudi Film Nights' will also host notable figures that include journalists, and film critics in China, alongside guests and film enthusiasts from diverse backgrounds.
In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Chinese cinemas will have commercial releases for the Saudi films VALLEY ROAD and STAR CHASER, right after their premieres in 'Saudi Film Nights'.
This is part of the Saudi Film Commission's efforts to support the growth and development of Saudi cinema, highlight local talents, and promote collaboration and the exchange of expertise between cultures.
