KSrelief Constructs 15 Artesian Wells in Sudan's Northern State

Northern State, July 22, 2026, SPA -- The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) has constructed 15 solar-powered artesian wells, complete with integrated facilities, in displacement-dense areas of Sudan's Northern State.

The initiative aims to provide safe, sustainable water sources for the most vulnerable communities, alleviate suffering caused by water scarcity, enhance water security, and improve the quality of life.
Each water station comprises a groundwater well, a submersible pump and its accessories, a 50-cubic-meter water tank, and a secure protective fence built in accordance with international safety standards, and operates on solar power.

The stations will benefit 150,000 people, including 75,000 children, by providing safe drinking water, reducing the incidence of waterborne diseases, and enhancing the sustainability of water services in Sudan.

The project forms part of Saudi Arabia's efforts, through KSrelief, to support and strengthen Sudan's water sector and meet the basic needs of beneficiary communities.
