 Riyadh, August 11, 2025, SPA -- The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia welcomed Australia’s announcement of its intention to recognize the State of Palestine, as well as New Zealand’s decision to consider taking the same step. In a statement issued today by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Kingdom commended the growing international consensus in support of the two-state solution and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital. The Kingdom emphasized that this critical phase requires peace-loving nations to formally recognize the State of Palestine and actively support efforts to end the prolonged war, particularly in light of Israel’s ongoing violations of international and humanitarian laws.
