Saudi Arabia Seizes 6,875,000 Million Amphetamine Pills

Riyadh, September 11, 2025, SPA - Ministry of Interior security spokesman Brigadier General Talal bin Abdul Mohsen bin Shalhoub, stated that proactive security monitoring carried out by the ministry, represented by the General Directorate of Narcotics Control, to track the activities and operations of criminal networks engaged in drug smuggling, resulted in the seizure of 6,875,000 amphetamine tablets originating from Lebanon.

The shipment, concealed in paint containers, was intercepted at Jeddah Islamic Port while en route to another country.

In coordination with the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, along with sharing intelligence with the counterpart agency in Lebanon, those involved in the smuggling attempt were arrested, and an additional 8 million amphetamine tablets in their possession were also seized, bringing the total amount confiscated in the operation to 14,850,000 tablets.

The security spokesperson urged citizens and residents to report any information related to drug smuggling or trafficking by calling 911 in Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, and Eastern regions, 999 in other regions, the General Directorate of Narcotics Control hotline at 995, or via email at 995@gdnc.gov.sa.

He stressed that all reports would be treated with strict confidentiality, with no liability for the informant.
