SDAIA Participates in UN Sessions, Discusses AI for the Common Good

Washington, September 23, 2025, SPA -- The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) yesterday participated in three high-level sessions at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

At a session on leveraging AI, SDAIA highlighted Saudi Arabia's experience in building an advanced AI system, stating that the Kingdom is focused on developing human capabilities through its National Occupational Standard Framework for Data & AI to ensure national talent meets international standards. SDAIA also introduced the Saudi Academic Framework for AI Qualifications, which guides academic and training programs to align with labor market needs.

In another session, SDAIA confirmed that the Kingdom's AI strategies have had a tangible, positive impact on the quality of life for citizens and residents. The National Strategy for Data & AI was ranked first globally in the government strategy category by the Global AI Index. SDAIA also highlighted key national digital solutions, including the comprehensive app Tawakkalna, which provides over 1,000 services and won the 2022 UN Public Service Award. The authority also mentioned the National Data Bank, which connects over 380 government systems and has resulted in savings and revenues exceeding SAR51 billion.

In a separate discussion, SDAIA reviewed strategies for small businesses to use AI for greater efficiency and reduced costs. The authority explained that leveraging automation, smart deployment, and data-driven decisions can achieve savings of 10% to 30% in various operational areas.
