Jeddah, October 8, 2025, SPA -- The meeting of senior officials from member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), held in preparation for the eighth session of the Islamic Conference of Health Ministers (ICHM), commenced Tuesday in the Jordanian capital, Amman. Meeting participants discussed key draft reports, resolutions, and the Amman Declaration, all aimed at strengthening the health sector in OIC member states. The documents will be submitted to the eighth ICHM, scheduled to be held on Wednesday and Thursday under the theme “Health is Our Shared Responsibility.” In his remarks during the meeting, OIC Assistant Secretary-General for Science and Technology Aftab Khokher commended the progress achieved under the OIC Strategic Health Program of Action (OIC-SHPA) 2014-2023, calling for the program’s extension to further build on accomplishments and address emerging challenges.
