AlUla, January 6, 2026, SPA -- The second stage of the Dakar Rally 2026 in Saudi Arabia continued Monday, marking the Kingdom’s seventh consecutive hosting of the event, organized by the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation (SAMF) and overseen by the Ministry of Sport. The second stage ran from Yanbu to AlUla, covering a total distance of 504 km, including 400 km of timed special stage. American driver Seth Quintero, behind the wheel of a Toyota Gazoo Racing W2RC, claimed first place in the car category with a time of 3 hours, 57 minutes, and 16 seconds. His teammate, South African Henk Lategan, finished second, 1 minute and 42 seconds behind, while Saudi driver Yazeed Al Rajhi in an Overdrive Hilux secured third, trailing by 1 minute and 56 seconds. In the overall standings for the car category, Qatari driver Nasser Al-Attiyah in a Dacia Sandrider maintained first place with a total time of 7 hours, 12 minutes, and 16 seconds. Quintero in a Toyota Gazoo sits second, just 7 seconds behind, followed by Belgian driver Guillaume de Mévius of the X-raid team in third, 1 minute and 9 seconds off the pace. The third stage of the Dakar Rally Saudi Arabia 2026 will begin Tuesday, January 6, with a loop course in AlUla Governorate, covering a total distance of 736 km, including 422 km of timed special stage.
