Riyadh, February 5, 2026, SPA -- His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, on Wednesday received at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh Federal Republic of Germany Federal Chancellor Friedrich Merz. Official reception ceremonies were held in honor of the German chancellor, and HRH the Crown Prince held an official session of talks with him.
At the outset of the session, HRH the Crown Prince welcomed the German chancellor to the Kingdom, while Chancellor Merz expressed his pleasure at this visit and at meeting HRH the Crown Prince. The two leaders reviewed aspects of bilateral relations, areas of cooperation, and opportunities to further develop them across various sectors. They discussed the latest regional and international developments and the efforts being undertaken in that regards. The session was attended by Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz; Minister of State and Member of the Cabinet Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz; Riyadh Region Deputy Governor Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz; Minister of National Guard Prince Abdullah bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz; Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah; Minister of Culture Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan; Minister of State, Member of the Cabinet, and National Security Adviser Dr. Musaed Al-Aiban; Minister of Commerce Majid Al-Kassabi; Minister of Finance Mohammed Aljadaan, the accompanying minister; Minister of Investment Khalid Al-Falih; and Saudi Ambassador to Germany Fahad Alhathal. From the German side, the session was attended by Federal Government Spokesperson and Head of the Press and Information Office Stefan Kornelius, German Ambassador to the Kingdom Michael Kindsgrab, Foreign and Security Policy Advisor to the Federal Chancellor Dr. Günter Sautter, Economic and Financial Policy Advisor to the Federal Chancellor Dr. Levin Holle, and other senior officials.
