Taif, August 13, 2025, SPA -- Marwan Castle in Taif stands as a testament to the grandeur of history and the beauty of ancient defensive architecture, perched atop Mount Marwan and just a few kilometers from the historic Souq Okaz. Writer and historian Manahi Al-Qathami said the castle's location gives it a unique and strategic panoramic view, with vast stretches of palm farms forming a green canvas amid the mountainous landscape. This view was not merely aesthetic in the past but served a practical purpose, enabling guards to monitor any unusual movements and ensure the protection of farmland and vital resources for local residents. Al-Qathami added that the castle was built from solid stone, with an architectural design intended to withstand the test of time, reflecting the ingenuity of builders in balancing defensive strength with architectural beauty using local natural resources.
