Riyadh, August 15, 2025, SPA -- The Communications, Space and Technology Commission (CST) has released the fourth edition of the “Digital and Space Sustainability Report” in Saudi Arabia in partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the International Telecommunication Union, showcasing the Kingdom’s key initiatives in digital sustainability. The report highlights the role of digital and space technologies in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by promoting universal accessibility, fostering the circular economy, improving energy efficiency, supporting climate change monitoring, and enabling effective action to address environmental challenges. It also focuses on Saudi Arabia’s leading efforts in digital sustainability, featuring 16 success stories in environmental, economic, and social dimensions, aiming to raise awareness of sustainability across various sectors and the positive impact of technology in achieving the SDGs, while demonstrating outstanding initiatives that serve humanity. The report presents CST's major achievements under the CIRCLES framework goals, which have earned international recognition for its leadership in shaping the global circular digital economy. These include an invitation for global collaboration with the Digital Wellbeing Index, organizing the second edition of “Connecting the World from the Skies” forum, selecting three ICT sector companies as sustainability champions, and achieving a top-tier rating in the Energy Performance Card issued by the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center. The report documents the contributions of more than 25 public and private entities to digital sustainability, showcasing diverse innovations such as AI-driven robotics, predictive modeling, eco-friendly materials, space technologies, and satellite applications. It also presents forward-looking trends aimed at promoting sustainability in the future of the digital and space sectors.
