Riyadh, August 21, 2025, SPA -- The Esports World Cup 2025 is nearing its final stage after launching in Riyadh on July 7 and running through August 24, following weeks of exceptional competitions and large-scale fan events hosted at Boulevard Riyadh City. The tournament, organized by the Esports World Cup Foundation, brought together over 2,000 professional players from 200 clubs representing more than 100 countries, competing across 25 tournaments in 24 games. With record-breaking prizes exceeding $70 million, the event reinforced the Kingdom’s global leadership in the vital sector. Competition is intensifying as only three tournaments remain — Counter-Strike 2, Street Fighter 6, and CrossFire. “Team Falcons” leads the overall standings, followed by “Team Liquid,” while “Team Vitality” holds onto third place. Meanwhile, “Twisted Minds” and “Virtus.pro” share fourth position in the title race. In the CrossFire championship, the group stage concluded on Wednesday with four clubs advancing to the quarterfinals: Saudi Arabia’s Al-Qadsiah Club, China’s Qing Jiu Club, Evolution Power Games, and AG.AL. The competition will continue on Thursday to determine the remaining qualifiers for the round.
