AROYA Cruise Ship Solidifies Saudi Arabia's Global Tourism Presence

Jeddah, August 21, 2025, SPA -- AROYA Cruises’ ship — the first Arab cruise line operated by Cruise Saudi, a company fully owned by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) — continues to offer integrated tourism experiences with a cultural touch that reflects the Kingdom’s identity, in line with a vision to strengthen its global presence in marine tourism.

Since its inaugural voyage in the Red Sea from Jeddah Islamic Port on December 16, 2024, AROYA has emerged as a floating resort spanning 19 decks, with a capacity of 3,362 passengers and 1,678 cabins and suites designed to showcase Saudi hospitality and luxury living.

This summer, AROYA expanded into the Mediterranean Sea, launching its first voyage on June 28 from Galataport in Istanbul. The itinerary included Athens, Mykonos, Souda Bay, and Bodrum, with sailings continuing through mid-September 2025 on six- to seven-night routes covering key destinations in Türkiye, Greece, and Egypt, including Alexandria.

AROYA reflects Saudi identity through its interior design and distinctive cultural atmosphere across its facilities, featuring 12 restaurants and 17 cafés that serve a wide variety of dishes inspired by five continents, while highlighting authentic Saudi flavors.

As part of a strategic partnership with the Culinary Arts Commission, the ship introduced Irth, the first Saudi restaurant at sea. It also offers camel milk products from “Noug” in collaboration with Sawani.

Guests enjoy a comprehensive entertainment experience through 20 facilities, including the largest kids’ area on a cruise ship (1,800 square meters), the 1,018-seat AROYA Theater, a shopping district inspired by traditional souqs, as well as a sports complex with football and basketball courts, a jogging track, and a fully equipped wellness center.

At the heart of this experience lies the 'Khuzama' area, which features 145 suites and 9 villas. The most prominent of these are the villas spanning 395 square meters, which offer exclusive services.

AROYA also includes prayer areas and allocates specific hours for women in its spas, reflecting Saudi social and cultural values in every detail of the journey.
Its expansion into the Mediterranean Sea, less than a year after debuting in the Red Sea, marks a continued growth path that strengthens Saudi Arabia’s presence in leading global cruise destinations, while supporting the Saudi Vision 2030 goals of economic diversification and tourism development.

AROYA represents a practical embodiment of the Saudi Vision 2030 to diversify the economy and develop tourism infrastructure through strategic investments that drive tourism growth and reinforce the Kingdom’s position on the global tourism map.
