 Riyadh, October 21, 2025, SPA -- The Transport General Authority (TGA) announced on Sunday that the unified electronic contracts for car rental operations across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reached 1.817 million contracts issued to individuals during the third quarter of 2025. TGA confirmed that car rental contracts during the July-September quarter increased by 21% compared to the same period last year. Riyadh Region topped the list for car rental contracts, accounting for 31.62%. Makkah Region followed at 24%, with Eastern Region ranking third at 14.62%. The next regions in the ranking were Aseer Region at 7.72%, Madinah Region at 5.81%, Qassim Region at 4.59%, Jazan Region at 3.77%, and Tabuk Region at 2.81%. The remaining regions included Najran Region at 1.53%, Hail Region at 1.30%, Al-Jouf Region at 0.81%, Al-Baha Region at 0.73%, and Northern Borders Region at 0.63%. The unified electronic contract secures the rights of lessors and renters and helps minimize disputes. By raising service quality and technical requirements for vehicles, it facilitates smoother rental operations, thus enhancing the overall efficiency and competitiveness of the sector in the Kingdom.
