Riyadh, February 26, 2026, SPA -- Wadi Hanifa in has welcomed Ramadan with a noticeable surge in walkers and runners. Its tributaries and scenic trails have transformed into a daily destination for fitness enthusiasts of all ages and both genders, as they enjoy the capital’s pleasant weather and the month’s unique spiritual atmosphere. During a field tour, the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) met with members of the R7 Run Club, which has grown to 4,681 members since it was founded in April 2018, making it one of the most prominent community running clubs. Club members emphasized to SPA that maintaining a fitness routine during Ramadan, while requiring discipline and careful management of sleep and nutrition, provides a strong sense of achievement. Starting out in walking or running can be challenging, particularly for beginners from both technical and fitness standpoints, but consistency makes the difference, the club members said. With time, the initial struggle gives way to enjoyment and passion that motivate participants to keep going, whether during Ramadan or throughout the year, they added. In this setting, the most compelling scene unfolds: amid the spiritual calm of the blessed month and the natural serenity of Wadi Hanifa, each step becomes more than just exercise. Walking and running transform into a lifestyle, one that combines health consciousness with meaningful use of Ramadan’s hours, offering a renewed opportunity for anyone seeking a more balanced and healthier way of living.
