Official Identity Launched for 'Khaleeji 27' Gulf Cup

Riyadh, May 14, 2026, SPA -- The Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF), in cooperation with the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF) and the Local Organizing Committee of the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027, has announced the launch of the official identity of the 27th Arabian Gulf Cup “Khaleeji 27,” as part of ongoing preparations for Jeddah hosting the tournament from September 23 to October 6, 2026.

The Khaleeji 27 will, for the first time, host Gulf Cup competitions in Jeddah, marking a new chapter in the championship’s historic journey.

The new identity carries a character inspired by the spirit of the Gulf and the details of Jeddah, with the logo design drawing inspiration from the historic Rawashin for which Old Jeddah is renowned, shaping the image of the championship trophy. This step reflects the tournament’s connection to the city’s cultural and architectural heritage and gives the identity a visual character that expresses both the authenticity of the place and the modernity of the event.

The colors of the identity were inspired by the colors of Saudi Arabia as a Kingdom, the vibrant hues long associated with Jeddah, and shades of turquoise drawn from the Arabian Gulf. Together, they reflect the maritime character and the cultural and geographic interconnectedness of the Gulf states.

The AGCFF affirmed that the new identity reflects the deep passion Gulf fans hold for the championship, embodying what the Gulf Cup represents in terms of fraternal bonds and a long-standing sporting and social history among the peoples of the region, while also highlighting the rapid development witnessed by Gulf football at all levels.

On this occasion, AGCFF Secretary-General Jassim Al-Rumaihi affirmed that the logo of the Khaleeji 27 tournament embodies the importance of the Gulf symbolism of the event held on the soil of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, CEO of the Local Organizing Committee for the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 Mai AlHelabi emphasized that the new identity was designed to reflect the spirit of the championship and the distinctiveness of its hosting in Jeddah by blending the city’s heritage and cultural elements with the Gulf character long associated with the tournament, thereby creating a visual identity that resonates closely with Gulf audiences.

The launch of the identity coincides with the countdown to the draw ceremony, scheduled for May 19 in Historic Jeddah, amid wide anticipation from fans and media alike, as the tournament is regarded as one of the Gulf’s most prominent sporting events and closest to its audiences.
