Jeddah, March 03, 2026, SPA -- Minister of Transport and Logistic Services and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) Saleh Al-Jasser inspected the facilities of King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah on Monday. He was accompanied by GACA President Abdulaziz bin Abdullah Al-Duailej; CEO of Matarat Holding Raed Al-Idrissi; Chairman of the Board of Directors of Jeddah Airports Company Eng. Raed Al-Mudaiheem; and CEO of Jeddah Airports Company (JEDCO) Eng. Mazen bin Mohammed Johar. The minister’s tour began at the Welcome Hall, where he viewed the hall’s facilities and the services provided to travelers. He inspected the electronic gates and listened to a briefing on the operating mechanisms and technologies used to enhance efficiency and expedite procedures. He also visited the duty-free area and the passport control section, where he was presented with an overview of the key services offered to departing and arriving passengers. The tour also included a visit to the health control center at King Abdulaziz International Airport to review its readiness and the health services provided, in addition to a stop at the customs area, where he received a briefing on modern technologies employed to detect prohibited items and facilitate passenger movement. He reviewed the updates on flights affected by current events and monitored travel movement to ensure the required smooth flow. He also examined the efforts undertaken to assist stranded passengers from GCC countries at the Kingdom’s airports, providing them with full comfort and care within an integrated ecosystem of efficiency and organization. This comes in implementation of the directives of the wise leadership and as a reflection of the deep fraternal bonds uniting the Gulf states and their peoples. Additionally, he commended the efforts of all airport sector employees, appreciating the high-level coordination and joint work to facilitate the smooth flow of travel and arrivals, noting that passenger traffic is witnessing rapid growth during the holy month of Ramadan from various parts of the world.
