United Arab Emirates, Dubai, October 1st 2013: Toyota Australia this month exported its one millionth vehicle to the Middle East. The company has been supplying Camry and Aurion vehicles to the region since 1996.
Al-Futtaim Motors, exclusive distributors of Toyota in the UAE and one of the largest global partners of Toyota Motor Corporation Australia confirmed that the continued success of Camry in the UAE market is testament to its leading durability and reliability.
Exporting Camrys from Australia to the region began in 1996 following extensive studies that resulted in the production of quality and durable vehicles that can withstand the local hot and humid weather conditions.
“We recently received an award for contributing to the 1 millionth Camry exported to the Middle East by Toyota Motor Corporation Australia. We are very proud for playing a major role in this and thankful for our customers' continued trust in Toyota” said Alan Carpenter, General Manager Sales and Marketing, Al-Futtaim Motors.
“Camry is one of our best performing vehicles within our fleet business and makes up a significant percentage of our corporate sales. Being one of the most favored cars among taxi companies, the car has proven great reliability after being subjected to high mileage and long driving hours” he added.
Last year, Toyota Australia exported 72,899 Camry and Aurion vehicles. Of these approximately 97 per cent of vehicles were sent to the six Gulf Cooperation Council countries, including the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. In addition to the Middle East, Toyota Australia also exports vehicles to New Zealand and the South Pacific Islands.
