Riyadh, February 01, 2026, SPA -- Under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of Riyadh Region Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz attended on Sunday evening the closing ceremony of the 3rd edition of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Camel Festival, held with the participation of 11 countries. Upon his arrival at the historic Al-Janadriyah Camel Race Track, Prince Faisal bin Bandar was received by Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee (SOPC) Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal; SOPC Vice President and President of the Saudi Camel Federation Prince Fahad bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; along with several officials from the Federation. The ceremony then began with the playing of the Royal Anthem, after which Prince Faisal bin Bandar crowned the winning owners. Four races were held over a 6-kilometer distance, featuring 65 camels, amid intense competition between local and international camel owners. Cash prizes totaling SAR75 million were awarded to the winning local and international owners across the various race categories. The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Camel Festival is one of the Kingdom’s most prominent annual heritage sports events. It brings together top local and international camel owners in competitions that combine tradition with sporting excitement. The festival aims to enhance the international profile of camel racing as part of the national identity, support its development, and showcase the Kingdom’s advancement in hosting major events to the highest organizational standards.
