Dammam, March 23, 2026, SPA -- Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd University (PMU) launched a new initiative based on the transformative education initiative, as part of its developmental direction to enhance the education system, scientific research, and community service, and to enable students to acquire comprehensive and sustainable skills that qualify them to engage with the rapid transformations taking place globally. The initiative responds to accelerating changes in the fields of knowledge and technology, particularly significant advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) and global educational transformations. Through the initiative, the university aims to equip students with skills to adapt to changes and interact with them flexibly and with awareness. The university explained that the initiative is based on the concept of sustainable learning, which aims to enable students to acquire intellectual and life skills that endure over the long term, enhancing their ability to think critically, analyze, engage in constructive dialogue, and innovate in addressing evolving challenges.
The initiative adopts a transformative learning approach that encourages in-depth academic discussions, the exchange of ideas, and cognitive engagement, making students active participants in building knowledge, conducting research, and exploring. These contribute to developing students’ skills in analysis, inquiry, and linking academic knowledge with practical applications. The initiative aims to prepare students capable of adapting to the rapid changes in the contemporary world, enabling them to engage in continuous learning and adapt to various professional and knowledge contexts, and to equip them with the capabilities needed to meet future demands and operate effectively across different environments and conditions.
